Happy Birthday Christine!

Dear Christine,
As you can see, you have positively impacted many people in your short 25 years. But then I'm not surprised because I've been priveledged to witness much of that.  What a blessing you have been in our family. I love you and admire you so much.  You have such great friends and I miss being around them and watching you all have so much fun together. As I have reflected on the many memories I have of you, several in particular come to mind. It seems like we went to a lot of county fairs, ate lots of great food and saw some pretty amazing concerts. I mean we saw the band "America!"  What teenage girl wouldn't give all to see their dad's favorite band from the 70's! Thank you for tagging along and being such a good sport. I guess you got even when you asked me to take you to see Billy Gillman. I remember going almost a whole school year thinking you were in 3rd grade but you were really in 4th...which is weird because I thought you were only turning 24 this year!jk. And the time I brought home those beautiful pierced earrings. When I noticed you hadn't worn them you graciously told me, "dad, I don't have pierced ears." There were many trips to Roeding Park and the zoo and the time I chaperoned your class to some amusement park and you said I was like Bob Saget from "Full House" which I think was a compliment. I enjoy comparing notes on American Idol and I appreciate that you make suggestions to me on some of the music that you like that you think I might also like. I always enjoyed it when you would come home from an activity or from school and you would tell us about your day and all the things that happened.  I always admired you for auditioning for the school musicals and plays even though you knew you probably wouldn't get a lead part. Still, you wanted to participate and be a part of it and have that experience. Most of all, Christine, I remember the outstanding young woman you were (and continue to be.) Your leadership in the stake youth was exemplary. Most of all, as a father I appreciated knowing I could always trust you to be truthful in everything.  I never had to worry that you were somewhere other than where you told me you would be.  And now you have gone from this fun loving crazy teenager to an amazing wife and mother!(Still fun loving and crazy)  It's like you just transitioned into that role so naturally. What a tremendous blessing that Heavenly Father guided our family to Las Vegas for a short couple of years so that you and your big sister could find your eternal companions.  And to top it off, for me to be assigned to home teach Harrison's family!  Well, I guess it's pretty obvious that was meant to be. I know you have had challenging times being away from Harrison so much but you handle it with grace.  You have shown us that you "can do hard things."  We are so grateful for Harrison and his family and for the love and support they provide as well.I could go on but I won't .  Your are a choice daughter of your earthly parents and your Heavenly Parents. I look forward to spending time with you and the boys this weekend. Brian Regan here we come!
Happy Birthday dear.  Much love, dad
