Happy Birthday Christine!  So many memories…

Your Birth

  • Your mom “nesting” before you were born.  She was washing the front window with the screen removed, the window wide open and leaning out with one foot on the sill.  I guess it did the trick as you were born shortly afterward.
  •  Skipping out on church so I could be at the hospital when you were born and hearing your dad paged to get back to the delivery room right away.
  • Watching the dark hair you had at birth grow out leaving little dark tips on your beautiful blond locks.

Naps

  • I’ve never seen a toddler so happy to take a nap.  You’d stand next to the crib in Mallory’s room and fuss until I’d put you in then you’d flop down, almost chortling, stick your knuckle in your mouth and go right to sleep.  (I suspect you’re just as happy to get a nap now.)

"Field Trips"

  • Trips to the park, zoo & the metropolitan museum.  Dragging you along to Teague so I could volunteer in Mrs. Seaberg’s class.  You were always so fun and cooperative and the kids loved having you there.  I couldn’t have done that with just any child.
  •  I remember going to watch the circus parade in downtown Fresno.  You were terrified of the elephants (so I of course took videos of your distress).  Mallory and I thought we had tons of pictures of you but I realized that most of our memories are captured on video.

Little Hostess

  • I remember going next door one day to talk to your mom.  She couldn’t join us right away but little Christinie, (probably 4 or so) was the consummate hostess, so poised and gracious, you offered me a beverage while we waited.

 Dress-up and Halloween

  • Of course dressing up in costumes. You were such a good sport and often took the roll of the boy when you and Brittany Castro-Conte  played dress-up, Prince Charming, Batman…  You and Lindsay were such good sports to allow me to indulge my Halloween obsession at your expense.

 The Little Mom

  • Always a little mom – practicing from an early age – you took such good care of Sean when he was a baby.

 Music Videos – ‘nough said?

And so many more...

  • You were a sweet, good-natured, adorable baby; a kind, happy, friendly child and you’ve grown into a beautiful, caring and giving woman.  I’m so proud of you!

Happy Birthday,

“Aunt” Debi
